In order to fix my sloppy steering, I have ordered DSS, Trackbar/Trackbar conversion kit from PSC motorsports. Unfortunately they did not have the (quick ratio) steering box, so I am still looking for this. 4wheelcustoms have the box, but will not send overseas.

Is there anyone else out there that sells the PSC, other similar product?

I've been running a PSC box in my Jeep for over a year and one in my truck since this winter. Been working great! Far better than the factory junk!

I went to PSC's site and they don't list one above 92 Dodge. 6 monnths ago they did cause I almost bought one. I believe someone said they can't get the boxes anymore. Try

Power Steering Services (PSS) in Springfield MO 417 864 6676.

Here is the thread going on now that has lots of discussion on PSC and Power Steering Services and

3 1/4 ratio boxes: Its titled "Steering Box turns lock to lock?".

Looks like PSC is not a good choice anymore. Can anyone confirm that for us?

Good Luck,

Dave

A week AFTER I ordered a box from them, PSC emailed me letting me know they did not have any core boxes for rebuilds. I decided to go with Power Steering Services and am VERY happy with the results. About 100 bucks less too!

that sucks, I use to recommend them to everyone I knew that needed a box due to their good reputation on the offroad boards, even was one of or sponsers on a site I moderate... figures, when I actually need the product, they stop producing it... :{

Thanks for the update. That's what I needed to know.

I'll be getting a PSS sometime in the future to replace my leaky box. Still on the path to eliminate the death wobble. A new track bar is also in my future... just haven't decided which one.

On the track bar, I am going to order the Thurenfabrication one probably next week! :-D I'll let ya know what I think if you cant wait. so far, from what I have read and heard, its the best damn bar out there.

Thanks. I'm interested in how it works for you. I will not be doing this for a month or more till I get the funds.

What I'm been thinking regarding track bars is that the thuren bar still has a stud type joint although its a better one (Heim joint) than the stock ball joint design.

The "3rd gen" bar has just a pass thru hole which I think is far superior (no joint to fail) but it requires a new bracket. That means more money for the the bracket and getting the bracket to stay reliably on the frame without welding is my concern. I don't see bolting it on as a reliable method.

The Heim joint bar would be cheaper since it bolts to the existing frame and doesn't require the extra addded expense of the 3rd gen adapter bracket and would be better than the stock ball joint design.

If the 3rd gen bracket were bolted and welded on then it would never move and it appears to me that it would be the best solution but also the most time consuming and expensive one. I just can't decide on which one to do.

I've also considered changing the front end from the inverted "Y' to the "T" setup using Thuren or Bulletproof parts.

Will it never end..... geez. :{

I got a Cardone rebuild. It was $160. oo. The "3 turn" box.

After I bought and installed it I went to my local frontend shop. They asked who's box it was? I told them. They told me that they were having problems with Cardone, and went through 3-4 boxes on one vehicle before dumping them.

They then told me that it was "one of the best steering dodge diesels" they've ever drove. :D I was there to get an estimimate on ball joints... . @ 113K miles you got to expect to do some work on these. Mine was fine. :D :D according to the shop. Guess I AM pretty easy on it.

The box I got was a lifetime warranty one, so the most I have to lose is a few hours under the truck next time. I cant see a DSS helping my steering at this point, but I'm going to get one anyway as a preventative measure.

YMMV

Chris,

If you mean that is this company "PSCmotorsports" or referred to as PSC http://www.pscmotorsports.com/index...ff99b88d86c9f19 :{ , the one where we can no longer get the famous and much liked steering boxes... Yes. . thats the one.

The one everyone is talking about getting steering boxes from now :D is:

Power Steering Services (PSS) in Springfield MO 417 864 6676 :D

Their web site is www.powersteering.com :D .

It gets a little confusing huh?

Just ordered one from PSS. He said it will be a week to ship one out because hes pretty backed up because of a high demand to the TDR guys calling him up :-laf. Will post up with impressions once installed. Im getting a 16:1 with a lifetime warranty. $179 for the box, $25 to ship and $100 core. I believe the PSC's were $300+

Jim

Dave M--yes that's confusing--

I have the AGR box along with the Rock Ram hydraulic assist with the DSS also--it's been on for 3+ years--I did the AGR stuff first and then got the DSS, should've gone with DSS first as the first AGR box went south within like 6 months, but they replaced it and no probs since---expensive set up for sure, but no death wobble and turns like a race car(kind of)----chris

just got this email from Karl at PSC...

I do still build the box you are desiring, but it is backordered, for 3

weeks because of lack of core cases. I have about 200 coming in shortly

and should have it available for purchase online within 2 weeks.
