Many 4th gens have this shake, I've spent $1000s trying to stop it in My 2013, My 2014 did not have it. I took a 2018 Home from the lot and it did not have it. Its hit and miss.. the company 2017 does not have it. My HVAC Contractors 2016 does have it. its only above 70MPH+

My 2013 starts at 75MPH and last to 90MPH and stops.... I'm thinking its exhaust related at this point I'm having Spring hangers made to see if that stops it.

John -I'm jealous that you basically found a mirror image of what I was looking for, complete with two tone paint.

I didn’t read all the replies yet but I traded my 07 for a 17 almost two years ago. The 07 wasn’t modded quite as much as your truck but was 395/820 and was a G56 six speed. My 17 is stock with the 68rfe. Only have about 14k on the 17 but I am extremely happy with it over the 07. I was worried that I would really miss the 6 speed and at times I do but not nearly enough to regret the change. Daily driving is expectedly more comfortable/refined in the 17 and towing very good. Never was disappointed with the 07 towing but the 17 is just that much better. The 07 treated me very well and didn’t have any issues or anything other than regular maintenance but like I said I’m glad I made the switch. No dead pedal or any issues with the 17, just enjoying driving it.

:) Congrats on your new truck, now may I give just a little advice. With the 3:42 rear diff and Trans in "D", your going to find that your RPM's will be real low when at 50-55 mph @ 1200 rpm's. This I believe is part of the dead pedal issue when you try to accelerate and the the engine will bog down trying to keep up with the TPS. The 2014 I drove, would do this, and I would paddle shift it when cruising at low speeds to keep the RPM range in the Cummins sweet spot. Everyone has their own way of driving, but I think you'll find this to be a nuisance after so many years of driving a stick with the CTD.

Good luck and enjoy the stock High output HP/TQ. :)

^^ I lock out 6th when pulling heavy

In Tow Haul it will not shift to 6th until 65.111 MPH. Only time I start paddle shifting in going down grades with the 5th wheel. On steep windy steep grades at 24,500 combined I would go the 4th, sometimes 3rd, on the full exhaust brake a lot.

Congrats. the 6.7 will embarrass the 5.9
i want the same truck only a dully.
are you going to mod it?
do you still have the smarty touch when you upgraded to the mm3? interested for my 04.

Congrats. the 6.7 will embarrass the 5.9...

This is the hope for every new vehicle.

Although some of us would like to see some of the simplicity and less sticker shock like the 1992 era Chevy had. A 3/4 Ton long bed regular cab diesel HO 6.5TD was $14,000 in 1992. A 1995-1997 fully loaded Tahoe was around $30,000.

1992 was "Mechanic". Today's it's Mechanic AND "Computer Technician". A $1000+ scanner and $1500 laptop plus a subscription to OEM software and/or service procedures is a higher bar for the backyard mechanic. Software updates tend to be dealer only. Airbag recall is the only reason my 2003 went to a dealer service dept since 2006, water pump warranty claim from PO. Just saying "being your own warranty station" is getting more expensive and computer complicated.

Yeah track down a intermittent bad connection... Those who have know the pain I just said. Aka: Time to track down the simple connector to fix.

As others have said, it will make the 5.9 look silly.

Looks are subjective. Some loved the "Big Rig" look that was different then every single other pickup out there. Having to make the "RAM" letters that big says something about "same 4 wheels and a box" look alike OEM's are going back to. At least you don't have to tailgate to see the OEM mark to tell who made it with those big letters... :D

Now if you mean from the back seat (!) I 100% agree. It appears the late models are "Mega Cab Standard" over the 3rd gen. That 92 Chevy extended cab mentioned is a sports car back seat: you know there for insurance cost reduction only.

Well, his 05 was built & tuned to his liking, so I expect it would out perform the 6.7 in most ways he's after.

Hopefully we don't see gaskets, studs & fire rings in the thin wall block's near future, fingers & toes crossed.

Congrats. the 6.7 will embarrass the 5.9

While helping my daughter look for a new car I found a new to me, 2013, clean, I mean really clean, low mileage 2WD with a 68re transmission... we tow 75-80% of the time a 17K lb 5er.. I sold the 05 3500 dually manual and bought this truck...

With 50K miles of towing I've never had the transmission temperature exceed 165 degrees.... and am very pleased with the truck... exceptional power and ability over the 05... I'm now retired so a new truck is something I need... based on the mileage I currently travel...

This was a Laramie Longhorn and my wife loves all the comfort our 05 just didn't have.... I do change all the fluids early but don't expect problems..

Well.... she went to a new home today. Rather, is still on her way to a new home. I suspect that Will is about 1/2 way home as I type this.

I am still more bitter than sweet for selling her, but I can tell you that I am 110% satisfied with where she is going. I couldn't have asked for a better guy to buy the truck. I hope it serves him and his family well for a long time.

Will... since you admitted to internet stalking these posts, please reach out whenever you have a question or need anything.
