Who to choose to get trans from

So I know its my transmission needs rebuilt (NV5600) and have decided after talking to both Standard Transmission and Blumenthal mfg along with Peter at South Bend I have decided after much reading on this fourm Ihave no clue who is better Standard or Blumenthal so help me choose.

1. Standard cost $3000 transmission plus $1000 core plus $165 x2 (returning core) shiping, 2 day shiping.After I order its gonna take up to 4 days to build one for me.

2. Blumenthal cost $3250 including all shiping 2 day shiping, plus $1500 core They have several on the shelf waiting they ar also a QS9000 certified facility, And (I dont know if they still are) the Dodge certified remanuficture.

They both have will get the trans to the shop where im having the work done in 2 days and bith do all the updates and oiling mods.Both have 12 month 12,000 mile warranty.

So who would you go with and why?

Maybe it is just me but.... I ALWAYS want MY "item" rebuilt. If I have owned the truck, car, ect. for a duration, I know how "I" have used it or maybe abused it. I don't want someone elses piece of junk that was supposedly resurrected then sold to me. I mark my cases and parts and make the rebuilder aware that other than any broken or worn parts, I want MY "item" back rebuilt. In the 48 plus years i have been twisting wrenches, I have yet to get an "Exchange" engine that something wasn't MAJORLY screwed up. Your trans was matched up when originally assembled. I would want to keep it that way.
I don't know about Blumenthal but Standard has been doing manual transmissions only for a long time. My $0.02 worth

Blumenthal's has been around 2x as long as Standard Transmissions. Blumenthal's rebuilds LD, MD, and HD transmissions both manual and automatic. On that only, the nod would have to go to Blumenthal's.


Don't think you can go wrong with either.
