Draft a letter describing the problem. Reference the applicable points out of the warranty booklet. Include a timeline of what actions you have taken thus far. Send it Certified Return Receipt to the address in the warranty book for dispute resolution. If there isn't one, call the 800 number and get one. Make the letter sound like it came from a lawyer. Be business-like, polite yet firm. End it with "I anticipate your prompt reply within the 10 days following your receipt of this letter or I will be forced to take additional actions to preserve my rights. "

CRR mail usually gets attention at any company. By writing the letter you can read and reread to make sure it tells your story. Also, anyone going to court has to have a paper trail, so you make them think that you are starting yours. Include a phone number where they can reach you (don't expect a letter back - too much overhead for a big company).

My guess is you'll get a call in the 10 days. Good luck.

That is a vey good point about CRR! It is so true how things that need a signature at least have a better chance to get opened (Not read on some cases I am sure but at least opened) and noticed. Heck th eoffice here comes to a complete grinding halt when one shows up.

Now who do I CRR?

Dispute Resolution Department or Arbitration Department or Customer Satisfaction Department - what ever they call it in the warranty booklet.

Customer service hotline- 800-992-1997. Be a big pile of sugar (sweet), and they'll do everything they can to get you hooked up. State the issue, any repair attempts, dealer's position on repair, and ask that a zone rep contact you for an opportunity to have them see the vehicle. I've seen them do alot of non warrantable repairs over the years, as long as they are treated nicely, and they feel it is at all justified. Go in with an attitude and you'll only get one thing- directions to the door! All the reps I've known were pretty decent, hope your luck is the same. Take care.
