Whoa! Hey! I just got a "server busy" message!

I get those messages ALL the time, ever since the "Upgrade" or "improvement" as they call it. Before that i NEVER got them. I am hopeing its tempoary.

I think the server busy page comes up when several people are using the search mode at once. Hopefully this will end when the second server is installed.

You wanted it, you got....

People begged for the 4 character minimum on the search to be dropped to 3 characters. I repeatedly said it would hit server performance.



Now the users have a choice:



1. 3 characters allowed in searches and server busy messages



or



2. 4 character search minimums and no server busy messages

Seriously, the search character length is the priority here. It is impossible to do some searches with 4 characters.



Besides, it happened ONCE in all the times I have been on here since the software upgrade has been tweeked.

Actually, the server performance is more important. There is another site on the server that gets impacted by the server performance. That site uses very little resources but gets hit really hard when the server is slow. So, 4 character searches will come back until the hardware upgrade is complete ..... read the announcement in the main forum about the upgrade. The equipment has already been ordered.

Just use an asterisk

To do a 3 letter work search, just add an asterisk after the last letter of the word, then search, works fine. Example: EGT*
