I'll be there, doing my best to make it go smoothly (filling in for Doug who is on vacation).

Sorry guys...

... I think my VP-44 is going south. I've got NO power and some BAD codes,so I'll be busy fixin' it this weekend... Doug

Just a reminder: DHRA racers earn points just for showing up, even if they don't race.

I will try to be there lending moral support for those that do show. My truck is still broke from Muncie, and has had other problems come up since also. The company I work for has union employees that are due to walk out on strike next week, so that will pretty much be the end of my season anyhow.

I'll be there. Just watch not run, not enough clutch left for too many more passes. The 9 passes at Budd's Creek took their toll.

Anyone know which truck ended up winning? I wanted to stay and try competing, but had to leave around 2:30 so couldn't. I did make some runs before the competition started. I'm hoping it was just the really hot humid air that was making my truck slow, and not something wrong. I couldn't do any better than a 14. 3 today.

I think I was the only Dodge Cummins that raced, and i believe the fastest diesel pickup. Was hoping to see more TDR trucks running down the track, but oh well.

BTW, did anyone see me chase down that chipped powerstroke? :D I gave him 2 seconds off the line and passed him before the end of the track. You should have seen the look he gave me when I went by. It was a good time. I think my rt was a 2. 5 on that one and he cut a . 5 something light.

yup i was there i left at 2:15 pm or so looked small both dougs were there from the ddra i saw doug run a 9. 50 some thing run and sortiro ran a 12. 60 etc with his ford picjup etc. . im sure ther had the fastest diesel pickups there i kept trying to find some dhra guys i even wore my shirt and hat ha. . i only saw the grey or black 2500 cummins in the staging lanes and the two parked dodges with the dhra applications in the bed by the bleachers but i never saw any body around them and i checked back often etc. . i was there from about 10:45 -2. 15 etc. . was cool small show though

oh well hope to see more of you guys some time soon.

oh by the way in a post above you dhra guys mentioned the dhra guys get points just for showing up right? whell how does that work? we couldn't sign in?. . and we don't have membership cards? etc. . so at events what are the supposed to do will a dhra organizer have a member roster or something to check people off with?etc. .

thanks

C-Hawk: We saw you run down the ford after falling asleep at the line. Good job. Didn't know it was you when I came up and talked to you in the staging lanes. Sorry.

therabbittree: I own thwe white dodge you saw parked and fest3r owns the grey dodge parked next to mine. We were sititng in the stands right above the trucks. Fest3r was walking around all day ( he was wearing a DHRA shirt and hat) trying to find members to check off as present. You two must have kept missing each other. If you were in the black Bronco with rear top missing, he tried to catch up with you on the far side of the track but you left before he got that far.

John,

I couldn't get my boost to come up fast enough when I was staging against that ford. The lights came too quick. I figured instead of leaving when the lights changed I would wait till the boost was right and at least try to get a decent et. I couldn't believe i crossed the line first. He had a huge jump on me.

Later, i waited at the line again when racing the tundra, but that was on purpose. My buddy in the tundra asked me for a headstart, and since it was just test n tune I gave him one. Had overdrive locked out by accident that time and only ran a 14. 5 at 85 mph, but still passed him easily.

It was fun, but way too hot.

ha yeah i looke dup at the stands both times each time i was by your trucks ha i kept trying to see if any body was watching to dhra guys etc. . i was walking around with my very pregnant wife she was wearing white so im sure we would have stood out i basicall hung around the ddra tent with doug doring and doug sortiro or walked over by th esonny trapp flatbed and talked with him and J&A as they both run the ddra races for the last few years etc. . oh well no i didn't have the bronco i did see it though i was sporting our 2001 golf tdi they wouldn't let me raqce it since it wasn't registered as a tryuck kinda sucked and i didn't reaaly fell like do test in tune with it any how i just ran it at english town last weekend the new injector nozzles have much more power infact the stock clutch fries it self if you give it any fuel under 2500 rpm oh well time to install the upgraded one i have. . later

Hi Chris

We were the DHRA guys that were watching you run. My name is Merv and my stuff was not running . Thankyou for being there and ready to race, and showing those Ford guys who rules. You could probably knock of a couple tenths by letting your truck cool in between rounds. Letting your truck idle with the A/C on gave us a chuckle, probably isn't to good for your trans to heat it up like that either. Hope we get to see you at the next meet. Merv

Merv,

I know your probably right, but I wasn't feeling 100% and i couldn't handle the heat of getting in that black truck with no a/c and then running down the track with the windows up. I had to get things nice and cool so I could be comfortable running down the track. :D And it might not make any sense, but my best et's have consistently been after letting the truck idle between runs. I have tried it both ways many times, and it always seems to be the case. I don't know why. I just figured it was something to do with the ecm.

Where is the next event? If it isn't too far I'll probably be there. Hopefully there will be some more dodges at the next one. I really didnt plan on racing, but when I saw that there weren't any dodges in line I felt like I had to. Don't want those ford and chevy boys thinking too much of themselves;)

Chris

In this area it will be at MIR

The date will be Sat. 25th of Oct. Its the Big Rig Truck Nationals. There usually a good turnout of TDR guys. Hopefully I have my truck running then. There are some good events in Penn. Check for TDR events in the Northeast region. Merv
