It does work like the old style jake brakes? the oil actuated solenoid was nothing more than a top hat type enclosure held down with a C clip under that was a Check ball with a spring to return it to normal when elect power wasn't applied to it. I have not been a big fan of exhaust brakes im sure that they have it figured out but they have to be hard on the turbo's that kind of back pressure on the turbo cant be a good thing. Where the new style(aka old style) is before the turbo I might be wrong its happened before. But I think and hope these work not only on 6. 7 but others as well they were twice as effective as exhaust brakes.
