i am wanting some kind of onboard air. don't know if to just get electric:( or does anyone have a mounted setup on their cummins? or pto? or? need info thanks.

Read this thread for a possible solution. I spoke with Brad at Kilby Enterprises several weeks ago. At that point in time I was told that there was still a plan to make a kit for the Cummins Ram. I got the idea that the bracket for the kit would be made in Texas and no production run had started. Perhaps more interest would move this project along.

You might want to look up a couple of active TDR members who've been around the block a few times when it comes to on-board air...

ToolmanTimTaylor and Dave Fritz both spring to mind ... . run a search on either and check out their information from their sigfile links.....

I have on board air in my Jeep, and I can take it with me for my truck too if I want. I have the 10 pound CO2 Power Tank system. I would have liked to have a compressor, but I wanted to save room under the hood for dual batteries and an on board welder, so I opted for the CO2 setup. So far I have been extremely happy with it. I would recommend the Power Tanks if you can deal with having to get it refilled once in a while. (costs $12) Othersise, depending on your needs for CFM and pressure I would go with electric with Sun performance QuickAIR3 or Oasis Trail Head copressor. The Quickair line of compressors are a good compromise between output and amp draw. The Oasis Trail Head compressor draws alot of amps but will surpass some shop air compressors, and it can be wired 12 or 24 volts to get twice the CFM (16 CFM @ 100PSI) If you want a belt driven compressor for your truck you will have to talk with Brad Kilby he sells many kits for Jeeps and is working on one for a Dodge V-10, but I don't see anything for the Cummins. Give him a call and he may be able to fix you up with something. He sells the same York compressor that the Oasis Trail Head uses, he just sells kits to make them belt driven instead of electric.

Good Luck!

I have a Grover air horn compressor on my truck that maintains 110 psi in a 4 gallon tank. I have same compressor on my Cherokee with a 1. 5 tank to supply the air horn and auto-leveling air bag suspension. Both work great. It does take a long time to fill a big tire though.
