Your stereo must have the RDS system to interpret the data for artist/title and channel name. The 6 disc RBQ has the RDS system.
I installed it in our 03 Jeep Liberty with RBP that has RDS. I figure if I like its operation well enough there, I will then do the RBQ in my 05 Ram.

I did do one of these on my friends 03 RBK and he says you have to step each channel up or down one channel at a time, tell me on yours if you press and hold the FF or RW button if it will roll up and down through the channels?

This kit does function better with RDS units. I found the RBP for 50. 00 online.

I originally had the RBK in my 05, but I changed out to the RBQ. The only thing that the RBQ does for me is tell me what the channel name is; it does not tell me the artist name or title, unless there is a button I don't know about. Also, I've had to get the Sirius replaced once already, because sometimes, when I start the truck, I get static. Not even static with music, just white noise. I took it to the dealership and they told me that it was a bad receiver, so they put a new one in. While I was in Arizona for the summer, the damn thing did it to me again, several times. I just got it back from the dealer, and they told me that they could not reproduce the problem. Anyone ever have this static happen to them?

Its because you have Sirius. The XM direct kit is 89. 00, plugs into your RBQ and will give you all that other data.

Yes! This used to happen to me frequently. I found that if I turned off the head unit for a minute or so it would "reset" itself. Haven't had the problem lately though.

Paul.

Have an Alpine head unit with Sirius and no problems. All I can say is Sirius programming blows XM away, Stern, Bubba the Love Sponge, Raw Dog, Blue Collar Comedy, Nascar, NFL= can't drive without it.
