Just wondering if they're worth the $$... . they look like a slick deal.

Only thing I wonder about is the chain hooks... it looks like they are obstructed. Is the light housing plastic or metal?... just curious.

Just put a set on my truck a couple of days ago. The housing is made of plastic. They have a switch that lets you turn them on, off or triggered by the back up lights on the underside rear of them. I think the safety chains would be hard to hook up & if they would ever be utilized the housing would be broken for sure. But I guess a new set is cheaper than the damage a trailer could do to something or someone. The other thing that I have yet to do is replace the hitch or redrill it. It won't slide far enough in to put the pin through it. The instructions do tell you that this step will probably be necessary. There is a 1/4" spacer that is supposed to keep the housing from hitting the bottom of the bumper but mine still hits & bends the housing some @ the top. Even with these issues I would still mount them on my truck without hesitation. I can finally see behind me @ night. My truck has tinted windows & I was scared I would back over something with the original backup lights alone. I Guarantee you will be able to see with these lights installed. By the way. The battery wire that comes with the kit is just the right lenth to run to the fuse box under the hood & that's where i mounted mine. You might wire the battery lead into the trailer connector in the rear but I elected to run the wire to the fuse box & soldered the trigger wire into the trailer connector. Hope this helps. Um... . anybody have a 5/8" drill bit I can use?

I have them and they are great. I too think that if I ever have to utilize the safety chains on my snowmachine tralier that I will crush the lights but I am willing to take the risk. I got a couple of shackles and put them in the hitch holes for the safety chains, that way they hang down far enought to reach them easily. Click the link in my sig to see them mounted on the rear of my truck. PM me with any more ??

I installed a set on my wife truck, she love them. she was complaining that she could see to backup. The first night she back in between to trees in dark section at the neighbors no problems. I had a little trouble with one of the scotch loks, I suggest stripping the insulation on the wire a little on the contact sides for a positive electric connection. I like that shackle trick, I will get a pair for the tow chains.

I've had them on my truck for over a year.

I needed to redrill my hitch receiver to allow for the pin.

I've towed on several occasions and have always hooked my chains to the safety chain loops on the stock Dodge hitch with no problems. (Housing hasn't cracked yet)

I did trim the bottom edge of the housing a little on one side to make it easier to remove and install the hitch pin.

I wired mine to the 12V lead in the trailer plug harness for power.

These lights are great!:)

And the three position switch underneath is :D for hooking up the trailer, chains, and wiring at night.

After putting two dings in the bumper, I at last can see to back

up. Tinted cab glass and canopy glass at night = disaster! The

white night throws some real lumens and the kit is complete with

wire, wire taps and relays well worth the money. Probably a good

idea to order the split wire looms Genos has too!

Didn't put a set on my Ram (2. 5" reciever hitch), but I did order a set from Genos and put them on my wife's Jeep Liberty. They work great. Well worth the money for the Jeep, since they look so nice. On my Ram flatbed, I just hung a couple tractor lights off the anti-submarine bar and am happy. .

Have had them on for about 10 mos. Hook up the safety chains all the time and have not had a problem. I must be lucky because I didn't have to drill a hole for the pin or trim any plastic. Took about 15 mins. to install. 12v power from the battery and spliced into the backup light wire. I did notice this morning that I may have one bulb burned out so hope they're easy to replace. One of the best investments ever for my Dodge.

BC , You have to move the 7 pin connector and the hitch pin is a pain with the stock white nights. I posted today with a pic on a much cleaner application. It also trims out the hitch ends.

I have them on mine and I love them. Very bright and I moved the switch up to the cab (lower right knee bolster) so I could turn them on when needed to work behind the truck. (Pull someone out or hook up a trailer etc... )
