Who's had the top off their NV-4500?

I'm trying to wrap up my NV4500 install in a first gen and for the life of me I can't remember which way the shifter goes together. The 1/2" thick rubber spacer that goes between the shift tower and the trans cover has a steel plate molded into one side. Does the plate go agenst the shifter or the cover? This would be the same as a trans in a 98-04 truck with a five speed. It's been a while since I had mine apart, anybody help? Thanks.

I can't even seem to find any install instructions for a short shift kit online to help me out. What I did find got me wondering if I have the right bolts however. Anybody remember if their bolts have a shoulder on them? The bolts that came with this have no shoulder and I'm afraid they'll just crush the rubber piece. I seem to recall mine had a shoulder... .

the metal side gets siliconed to the transmission. the rubber side is on top. The bolts slide into sleaves that can be pulled out. each sleave is about 1/2" to 3/4" long.

The sleaves are what I'm missing. I remembered a shoulder on the bolts but it must have been the sleves. Many thanks.
