Has anyone used one of these generators? Here is there home page KIPOR There gens are not expensive at all. Just wonder if there is a reason they are not expensive or if they are just not well known. It might be a good alternative to the honda EU2000 and EU3000

I haven't heard of them until now. I checked out their web page. Looks like they might give Honda and Yamaha a run for their money if the quality is there. Prices looked good.

I wonder what the country of origin is? There is a lot of gasoline and diesel powered Chinese junk out there!

I see there are several companies selling them on eBay.

Warranty Service would be a concern.

The videos look like China, maybe Korea. Wherever, the plant looks impressive. Good website with lots of "pretty video". I'd like to hear more about these, but, dang, made in China?? I guess it's hard to get away from that. :{

They are made in China. As far as "junk" the chinese have done a very good job of copying ALL the Japanese and American generator manufacturers. You can even order a 5. 9 "Cummins" motor -12v that all the parts will interchange with the US version. We import diesel generators from 5000 watt to 40KW whole house units. On the larger units castings are a little crude but internals are very good. On the smaller units they are an exact copy of the Yanmar single series air cooled diesel motors. You can't beat the prices-there are some good deals on Ebay.

I did a search on them on Google. Lots of hits, but the concensus is that they're pretty good. I went to Harbor Freight today and looked at one (1000 watt). Looks like a yellow Honda. That is the only size they carry. For the price, and as often as I use it, a 2000 would be a deal.

As far as 'junk' I own a Chinese Yanmar copy diesel generator. The metal for the throttle control was junk. The vibration from the diesel engine wore the metal latch mechanism out in less than 72 hours of run time.

I also own a Chinese made power washer and air compressor with the Honda clone engines. Neither are made very well.

I got them for nothing so I feel they are worth a little more than what I gave for them!!

FYI on Kipor

I am not an authority, or a bucket of information, but I have been searching for a while to find a good? or a reasonable priced generator for when we boon dock or have the need to have a generator along. As stated above on the RV.net site there has been alot of talk about the Kipor, and everyone there is satisfied with there purchase. Kipor has been in business for over 20 yrs. and last year they stepped into the US market, and are going to expand greatly here. This year they are going to set up service dealers all over the US to service there products. They sell generators from the 1000 up to large industrial units. And I can understand the feelings of some that do not purchase items that have "made in china" on it. But if anyone wants information on buying in utah, locale to SLC send me a PM, or E-mail and I will forward you the information as to where I got mine ETC.

The one I bought was the KGE 3500ti, Electric start.

Marv.

Saw these at an RV show a few weeks ago. Paint it red and it would be a Honda.

They didnt have the kit to link two (2000) together yet but were working on it.

I used that link and it now says Kipor is no longer importing to the USA.

Now... ...

I have one of the Chinese/Honda knock offs, that I paid $300 for. It is rated at 3500 watts and runs my entire 28ft TT.

For what I paid for it and the fact that it is only used about twice a year, it is the best deal going. I have had it for over a year and only had to replace the fuel line.

Go to this link (where I found my info before I bought), it is over 170 pages long on just this subject!

We thank you for all the past support but unfortunately for several reasons USAKIPOR will no longer be providing any service or support on KIPOR units in addition to any further importing of the product.

If you have a warranty claim please contact Kipor’s North America representative: Lisa Peng, lisa@kamacn.com

I was at a FL rv dealer and he had some. Very low noise level and he had a hurricane victim that had one with 3800 hours and no troubles. I almost bought one but could not get the parts problems out of my mind that all the China atv's and go karts have had, so I passed. Glad I did now.

Nice thing about them (at least mine) is that all the engine parts are interchangeable with the Hondas.

Have you actually tried it, I had a knock off china motor that was a copy of a 50 honda and some basic items did (gaskets and such) but the hard parts did not.

Hmmmm

No I haven't. Hadn't needed to (knock on wood).

It looks just like the Honda motor and supposedly they took one apart for a cast. Several though on the "Trailer Life" forum have had luck doing it though.
