I went to Vegas this weekend for May Madness and I put down 502 hp on the rollers which seemed a little high for 130 hp injectors. So my ? is what kind of power are you making and what set-up do you have. I don't care which pump you have on it vp 44,hr vp 44 or p-pumped. I would like to get to 600 hp on just #2 if it can be done. Thanks T. J.

mine is not a h o but up until the other day it was 621 rwhp

598 rwhp on #2 with

piers street strip twins

don m mach 6's

custom programed drag comp(made 170 rwhp)

dtt trans

back to stock now :(

sold twins for 2300.

mach 6's ,,600.

drag comp ,,450.

less than 500 miles on all

ask edge to load you a custom program for twins and a set of don m 6's and you should be there.

also,,from as many dyno runs that i've seen,,those big tires aren't helping if you are looking for hp numbers. (others may disagree :-{} )

I have heard that injectors larger than 175 hp wont give any more power because you would be exceeding the capabilities of the vp44 found in the high output trucks. I would think that with the stock pump that 600 rwhp with just #2 would be the maximum on the ho engine. Maybe the hotrod pump will support bigger injector like some mach 6's, anybody know? A p-pump conversion would cure the problem, I think it's a big job to change over.

I'd like to know more about this too, I have a Comp on the way that will be sent to Edge to make it a Drag Comp and in about 15,000 I will be putting it on with a SBC dual disc and a FASS, soon to follow will be injectors and some twins, probably the same setup you had ICEMAN. I would like to know if the HR VP will help, what it will cost, and what else I need to do to be in the 600 hp range safely.

i had the stock vp44 and stock lift pump fed by a carter pusher to produce the numbers above.

also had drilled bj bolts and schraders

30psi @ idle and 8-10 @ wot

pusher was installed when truck was fairly new

I believe tha the non ho engine is capable of making more power because the SO pump has larger pungers than the HO pump, this is where the hot rod pump came from, it uses parts from both pumps.

I know that the s. o pump flows more and thats why I said I did not care about which pump there using but I would like to know which one is on the truck. I plan on changing my pump in the future. My concern is with the higher compresion the H. O. motors has and how it affects the high H. P. trucks. Keep the info coming.

TJ. . what did you have on during your run and what boost did you see. .

I had boost of 44 only and did 517. . Piers only made 32 lbs of boost . . those roller don't like twins much without weights and Mike [Silver State] doesn't run them

511rwhp with Jammer 3's, Drag Comp, Jammer1 turbo. Remember that the HP rating of most injectors are for the SO trucks. They make about 15-20hp more in a HO.

Keiith . . just an FYI I have Jammer 5's in, almost called to see if I could get on your Dyno to see what I really make with your weighted slugs.

other goodies

PRD twins 40/3B , cam, stage 2 heads and flowed ATS, O-Rings , studs, 12 valve lift pump, and your Jammer 5's, Edge Drag Comp [noted theirs v/s yours to know timming]

I read somewhere that going from a Mach 4 to a Don M Mach 6 will not increase the max power of an HO pumped motor but will drastically change the torque curve.

I would say your best bet would be to swap to an SO pump, or aquire and SO pump and swap the HO cam ring in to it, for a hot rod VP. Or in your case TJ, why don't you carry a big set of sticks with you to the pulls or dyno, or strip and change them out, injectors only take an hour.
