need a little help

Ok, pickup is Denis' in the signature ("The Beer Wagon") that dynoed right at 492 RWHP w/ the water/meth on (462 w/o it). Well, it's a matter now of literally blowing the doors off a local 6. 0 that is stacked and talking smack, and he wants no doubt left who is the winner (we're talking 10-15 lengths here). We're figuring that with where he is now plus a 50-100 RWHP nitrous boost, my drag box, and a lockup switch, there shouldn't be any doubt... . so, the question... .

Who's nitrous system is the best, and why? Variable? 2-stage? Obviously I/we know absolutely nothing about them, but if it's going to be used strictly for racing and pulling (not sure there... last pull was diesel only which he won, and he'll probably want to remain in that class for that reason) what is the best deal?

Btw, stock headgasket and bolts... runs about 40 PSI boost at the top end w/ his regular box and 45-47 psi w/ my drag comp... how many times before he blows the headgasket? Any bets? It also runs about 47-50 psi boost w/ the water/meth on.

sooooo are you boys playing with the white one or the one who showed up in the parking lot of the friday night late ???? [on the pull weekend]

I built my own kit, but if i were to buy one as of when i built mine last yr, it would have been the bully dog 2 stage kit. it made the most HP. Now the TS performance kit is out,and im sure others have made changes its not the same, i wouldnt hesitate to buy the TS kit either, there truck gains a huge amount of hp on nitrous. BTW you will blow the head gasket almost immediately, its probably already blown partially. I wouldnt install the kit unless you run an o ring in the block or head. You iwll probably blow the gasket within the first few times hitting the NOS. When they blow,it can be messy, oil and/or coolant everywhere. One trime i ended up with almost 2 gal of oil on the antifreeze:eek:

I was thinking of going w/ TS performance. Their kits run off boost. I know one thing... their kit WORKS. They ran 11. 11 at muncie. Its around $1300... but it works.

Hey

hey give us a call here we have a customer who used his for one shot and it scared the bejesus out of him took it off killer deal,Its a nx kit with heater. 508 660 7093

I have a TS PowerFool 2;)

Great system and easy to install, but it does not run on boost unless you add your own Hobbs switch to it;)

The first stage is activated by a WOT micro-switch on the accellerator peddle and the 2nd stage is activated by a handheld(or can be mounted) button. It also has a purge solenoid, vent, and button.

The only thing I didn't like was the rather large black box the on/off switch, light, and purge button comes in:( I actually took them and the small circuit board out of the box and mounted them in the dash:)

ya dockboy just what i thought the exhaust looked a little funny. lol i knew that power joke was on some kind of drugs. not many fords makes that much power on fuel. it cost to much seems that every one is on drugs these days.

LOL!!;)

Ed,

That was all #2 in Exton;) :D

I just got the TS Nitrous kit about a month ago. In fact, I have only installed the control switching so far:( Been waiting to install the plumbing and jets until after I finished some other work on the motor:eek: I just put head studs in it the other night, got a different turbo going on today, and some other "secret" Power Joke stuff!! LOL!!!:D

Ask Johnny D(snow man), he'll tell you:) He keeps asking me every other day if I have it hooked up yet!! LOL!!!:D

I would disagree with this. If done properly, you shouldn't have any problems. Back in 02 when we were setting up for MM02, we had probably 10 bottles through our white truck in testing/tuning, making 160rwhp gain on the juice.

That truck had a stock head and gasket, and had never been off.

All trucks operators and individual setups can vary alot, come on now keith. Ive heard of them blowing at 45 lbs and holding at almost 60 lbs. Either way he should be carefull because he is at about the common limit plus with water and N2O. If it was my money I would probably go with the TS kit. Whatever is done just make sure you beat that 6. 0! BTW you know what chips hes running on his furd? That would help us.

I ran a nitrous express kit set up to add 100 horse with the stock headgasket & headbolts with a b1 charger at 50 psi all last year truck pulling & didnt have a problem at all. Just make sure the truck is warmed up real good before getting ugly with it.

I blew my stock head gasket with a B1,and 53psi of boost, with no nitrous. I never pushed the truck past 5-10 psi til it was fully warmed up. There are a lot of guys blowing them without nitrous. I feel its liek the auto trannys, some hold a lot more HP than others, right from the factory.

Keith you say that if it set up right ,it will hold, in the next sentence you say the gaskets original and the heads never been off. that doesnt leave a lot to setting that portion up other than possibly studding it one at a time. I feel that since the head was never off there was a lot of luck involved as far as you getting a flat deck, and head right from Cummins on your trucks. All i know is im still having problems keeping the head gasket intact at 65psi with no nitrous, and im not the only 1 ,there are a lot of guys with twins who are in the same boat. Up to now i have found the problems with every one, this time its perfect,in every way,i got my fingers crossed..... it'll hold up .

Like I said, it's all in the setup and TUNE. I would imagine that many people don't tune them on a dyno... leaving much room for error.

Studding would add some more margin to the mix, but that truck had a stock head and gasket - and was never apart. Maybe by right I mean conservative. We always did our setups on the dyno, and stopped when we figured we had enough. :)
