The stock Michelin's are just too tame for me! I'm looking at the Interco TRXUS in either 255/85R16, or 285/75R16. What do they wear like? Will they fit in the stock spare location? Wet weather traction? Noise level?

I'm running Super Swamper SSRs on my off-road truck, but don't think they'll do the trick on the CTD. They're too biased to off-road.

Any help will be appreciated.

I beleive Oasis is runnin those. I'm thinkin about them myself. I've run swampers on everything else i've owned all the way to the 44x18. 5x16. 5 they were all the original tsl bias tho. I could get 40000 outta them if i rotated every oil change. Also maybe the Mickey Thompson Baja's but theyre salty priced

Trxus

I have the 285/75/16's 10 ply. :D

I now have 20,000 miles on them and still have well over half the tread on them. I rotate them about every 5,000 miles with the oil changes. What I have found is when I first put them on I was running at 45 psi. and had to rotate every 2,000 miles because the front would start to cup  Now I run 60 psi. and NO more cupping even at 5,000 + miles :D :D :D I don't have one as a spare but next winter when I put new ones on I will keep one for a spare. I hope to get around 50,000 out of them. They slip a little in the rain but not that bad and I found out one burn out will take about 1/8 inch of tread off

We have a 1/2 mile dirt / mud road at our camp and I get in and out and tow all the heavy loads in.

I have had to pull out a Jeep hooked to a Chevy both at the same time and made it look easy.

Over all they do what I want and look good doing it.

Hope this helps

Cliff

As for your spare question. Either of those sizes will fit in the spare location and the trxus are not large for those sizes if you compare the actual dimensions. Actually the 255 runs a little small in comparison to other brands.

Brian I have the stock 2001. 5 wheels on with the Trxus

You can spin them in the wet if you want but they don't slide when you stop or do anything funny.

I have no need to drive on ice but they work very good on hard packed snow.

No rubbing with my 2" leveling kit on the front. Had the leveling kit before the tires.

Hope this helps

Cliff

[edit] click on My Truck in the sig. and you can see the front wheel & tire
