Was wondering thru the new pics in readers rigs when I came across these!

:eek: :--) :{ :{ :{ :{

I was almost doing what the last smiley above was doing when I came across these pictures. Someday in the future I have plans of making my 97 a full on pulling truck, but hey don't we all. :rolleyes: But I can't think of a better tow rig than a 1st Gen 4x4 Dually! However I would have to have a crew cab converted to CTD for the room! I have a friend local to here that has a truck identical to that one, but its a D250 coverted to a D350 almost even the same color(bed needs to be painted). Whoever this truck belongs to I feel your pain, that is truely a cherry ride... . only 65K :{ I have to ask... . is it repairable? The tidbits with the pics said the hit didn't hurt motor/axle/x-fer case but made no mention of frame or totaled/rebuildable?

GS that friend of yours. Did he go to Schieds this year? Me and Case500D meet a guy from TN running a converted W250 there. It was red also.

Yeah he did... ... . tall, skinny, younger guy but acts like he's 40 and has a real slow southern draw. ;) :-laf ... ... that would be him.

WOW! :eek: I can't believe that came outta my area! Most of the 1st Gen's around here are a little rough around the edges :rolleyes:

Me and Jeremy talked with him for an hour or so. We were just getting ready to leave when he pulled in. He is going to have a nice rig when he gets it painted.

Yes he definately will! However I don't see it getting painted anywhere inthe near future! :rolleyes: It would look identical to one above if he did! :--)

Yeah his truck, but in a crew cab flavor with 2nd Gen 12V motor would be my ideal (dream) tow rig. :D Oo.

Judging by where the front suspension ended up, I'd say it's a total.

Maybe... ... . maybe not. Look at how low it was hit in the front! :confused:

I know there had got to be *some* frame damage from having the axle ripped away from it, but it looks like whatever (car) hit it that it was low enough to go under the frame!

I hope this guy becomes and active member and keeps us updated on the rig! Oo.

It doesn't take much to total a 10+ year old truck. It sounds like the guy that bought it isn't afraid to fix it (sounds like his line of work). I wasn't saying it can't be fixed, just that it was probably a total in the eyes of the ins. co.
