Why am I getting two notifications for each thread that I am subscribed to?

Just as the title says, I'm now getting two email notifications for each thread that I'm subscribed to (when someone replies).

ha ha, I already checked for that...



I got it figured out, my email account has some rules that filter all of these emails into a specific folder and somehow the rule got duplicated so two copies went into the folder each time.

I'm getting the regular email notification, but then occasionly I'm getting an email that has the topic and a "linkback" to it? Not on every topic I've posted in, just select ones. This just started a few days ago.



Why am I getting these?

The linkbacks I had the setting wrong so that I had to approve all of them - there were like 10,000 of them in there for me to approve. Now they auto approve. I'm not sure who all the system sends them out to - if they are just to the thread starter or to everyone that's subscribed to the thread. Linkbacks are other pages that are linking to that thread for some reason - may be on other sites, may be on this one.

I selected the option to automatically subscribe to any thread I post to. I get the email alert for those threads when there is a reply to the thread. I am also getting the alert for when I post a later reply to the thread. That does not happen on the Dodge Cummins Diesel Forum which appears to be running the same software.



That may have been fixed by whatever you did because I'm not getting the alert for my posts this morning.



Later edit: still doing it this morning. Really slow in sending the alert.
