Here I am

Competition Why are 3rd Gen's slower at the track then 2nd Gen's (same mods)

Competition Enterprise Engine Springs !!!

Off Roading PROJECT: 1tonfun

Common rails will get better yes.

Injectors are a weak point though even at the 400hp area let alone 600hp.

P7100's are king and will stay that way for a long time.

Hey, Hohn, click those ruby slippers three times and repeat, there is nothing like computer controlled trash, there is nothing like computer controlled trash,,there is nothing like computer controlled trash,... ... ... ..... :-laf

I'm sure the common rail will rule JUST like the 24 valves did after they were obsolete for a while... did I say obsolete? I meant to say out for a while.

I would love to be able to have adjustable timing on a P-pump, but I'm not going to trade the fuel volume and reliablity for this fanatasy stuff you guys have been dreaming about since 98. 5.

You would think as many times as our PCs crash, you would understand that computers don't hold up-especially in harsh environments under our hoods.

MGM Studios brings us yet another fantasy production:)

Truck computers are reliable. How many failed ECMs do you see?

The HPCR can make more power on less fuel than a 12V because it has higher injection pressure and dynamic timing.

Like I said, once the HPCR gets ANY kind of volume, the 12V will not rule the roost. I may not exactly die (like I somewhat hastily stated), because there will always be a place for cheap performance, and a 12V is by far the cheapest up to 500hp or so.

Garmon is doing some awfully impressive stuff with a 12V in a 2005 truck.

Personally, I'd rather have an HPCR in a 2nd gen.

Hohn,

Just curious, but isint the lack of RPM a bigger problem then the fuel volume? With the new CP3 mods, HPCRs can move quite a bit of fuel. Enough to support 600-700 hp. Thats with no internal mods. If im not mistaken, there are NO mods available to raise rpm any amount. Are you talking about sledpulling/drag racing or just dyno numbers?

Thanks,

Steve

I'm curious what is the highest HP (on #2) 12valve that is streetable?

ANd what is the highest 12valve HP on the pro-pulling truck?

It funny, Bosch has the same take on the P7100 and CP3 - they say both CANNOT be modified with bigger plungers, and well look what happened with the p7100, We now have P7100's that are dubbed "stoopid" because they are so much larger then before.

I see the CP3's going the same way, Just a matter of time till one of those Cp3's gets dubbed "stoopid'er" :)

Matt Stuckey drives 740hp in a very sweet running 12v truck. Drives as good as my 460hp truck, just gets a real attitude when you press on the slanted peddle. :-laf

Chassis dyno numbers from the Pro Sled pullers are all but non-existent. They can't handle the disappointment. :p

I dyno'd a 2004 CR with one mod. A TST Power Max CR. Even still had the CAT on it. Made 454hp. I have never seen a 12v make anywhere near that with one mod.

I think the CR injection is very cool. The higher injection pressure has a major advantage over the low pressure P-Pump. Time will only tell if it will take the P-pump over. And without RPM, it might not ever take over the sled pulling market.

It would be fun to set the sled for Open class, then have the top pullers from each class yank it to see just how far apart they really are. ;)

Don't use Windows. Your PC will be fine as far as stability. my desktop has uptimes for months upon months at work and home.

Servers, go even farther, years upon years depending on security requirments of enviroment, and then it's just kernel patchs that require a reboot.

Unix/Linux = Cummins

Windows = Ford/Chevy.

Very simple. :)

12valve will never go away.

It's just too cool to listen and watch 30+ deg of timing lighting up on a 12 valve, right before all hell breaks loose.
