I bought a diesel over a gasser because:



1. towing power = DIESEL



2. fuel economy = DIESEL



3. DIESEL = " CUMMINS"

3. I listened to one at a red light, then again while walking through the Home Depot parking lot, I knew it was time to move up from Dodge Magnum's to CTD's

Reason 1: Traverse a 10% Grade pulling over 12,000 pounds of trailer without having to down shift to third ro second gear



Reason 2: The sound of the diesel puts my wife to sleep when we travel. Life is so good when she is alseep

Whats good about a diesel

1. Never ceasing to be amazed at the wishful looks of those driving a gasser.



2. The motor that keeps on giving-even at 500 K



3. The ability of the Cummins diesel to surpass other pickups when it comes to towing-thats just fact!

Better fuel economy.



MUCH more fun to drive. Going through downtown (fill in the blank) I can do 3rd gear starts and not have to shift til I get to 40+.



Easier to troubleshoot and maintain, IMO.

Why buy a diesel.

The first and foremost reason is patriotism. Diesel is less refined than gasoline and therefore uses less resources to make.



Diesel vehicles perform more efficiently than the same gasoline powered vehicle. They get better mileage than gasoline engines.



The diesel engines like those in our dodge trucks are built to last. Try getting a few 100 thousand miles on your gasoline engine.

Why i have a diesel

When i turn this sucker on and start kicking gears all hell breaks lose. I worked on oil and gas lines and need a truck with balls. I wanted a truck that wont take my paycheck to go to my next job also can pull my fartbag. Hooked up Ringneck.

Why drive a diesel over a gasser?

1. Because why would you want to follow the millions of other people driving there gas hogs, when you could drive the only truck (a cummins diesel) that will outlast every gasser out there.



2. Because if it was up to the environmentalist we would all be driving the gas/electric hybrids.



3. Because we work hard for our money & cannot afford to recycle our cars every 100K for a new gasser. Thank God for a good reliable Cummins Diesel.

Keep the Card

I bought a diesel after having most every other truck

1965 Chevy 1/2 ton

1972 Ford 4x4 3/4 lifted to the heaven

1973 Ford 4x4 1/2 ton

1980 Bronco

1982 Chevy 6. 2 Diesel

and drove a 1954 old Dodge ram when i logged in Oregon ( ran great!)

and also big Semi's to the tune of about 12,000 miles a month all local ( in ca)

one was a big Cummins 400



I bought my first horse about 3 years ago but have been riding everyone else's for the last 15

I wanted to get a truck to pull him around with when I could find a trailer

So I talked to all my friends

one of them had a dodge 06 2005 short bed diesel. he swore by it.

So I started to look around and found a 1999 2500 long bed 6 speed for 13k almost 3 years ago with only 30k miles on it

I called some friends around and they said it was a great deal to buy it.

The guy took great care of it ( an older man) did everything by the book.

so I called mom and asked her for a loan ( better rates)

she called a couple of her friends and they all said YEA buy it.

So I did.

It is my only vehicle.

The only thing that I have changed is

I have put amsoil in the motor and change oil at 30k after it has been tested

the guy before me put in a exhaust break and a special fuel filter by pass kit (makes changing the filter so much easier

other then that it is 100% stock.



I just go to Tj for cheap fuel. and have put in a RDS fuel/toolbox

I do not drive over 65 ever mostly 60 as I have 4. 11 rear ends

I love my truck and treat it like a truck. it has dirt in it as the ranch where my horse is is on a dirt road

I drive a bout 3k a month and went out and bought a 24 foot gooseneck horse trailer.

The guy before me had to American eagles air brushed on both sides ( will send photos in when I get to 100k)

have driven the truck and trailer to Idaho and back in 2 days to get a horse and it runs great. gets about 16. 5 in town and 22-24 on freeway empty.

And i still have the Factory Fuel pump on the side of the motor psi is 12 idel and 8-9@WOT

I am happy with the Fuel pump and will probably go to the Freightliner dealer for a new one same one for 190 or so

Why buy a diesel over a gasser?

1) So when you pull up to a rice-rocket you know your gonna look cool when you kick his a**!!!!! :--)



2) You will only have to transplant the engine to another truck when the body rusts away after a million miles! :-laf



3) The only internal combustion engine that can run on a fuel that you can refine in your garage in an hour! Oo.

1. Pulling a hill and maintaining speed with a 30 foot gooseneck loaded with steers at 2000 rpms and passing a whining tree huggers car is reason enough.



2. 22 mpg in a 7000lb truck is not possible in a gasser



3. I love the jealous looks on peoples faces as I pass them and rattle the windows in there gasser. ( I know it is anger on their face, but deep down they wish they were driving it. )
