I don't mean to disagree, but my personal experience has been exactly the opposite. I owned a 2005 that I bought new. In the brief time I owned it, it was back to the dealer 13 times for front end related repairs under warranty. I finally had to sell that truck. It simply couldn't survive the dirt access roads we drive on daily. Maybe I just got a bad one, but it cured me of any desire to own another one.

Just curious... The 2005 you had was a GM?
Thanks,
Bruce

An early series of this truck

Was a GMC3500 HD 6.5 with the IFS. They didn't last long at all. It was a joke.
The very early series was a K3500 6.3. That was a different story ;)

That sure looks like a newer Ford! Sure you have the right photo. Snoking

That is what we're using now. I was explaining what the earlier truck was. It's easier to show a pic than to describe it. It's basically a baby sander with floor plates you can install for rubbish work.

The dozen or so guys I know carrying an 8.5-9 foot snowplow would disagree and so would I. I've changed front u joints on a yearly basis and replaced 2 axle shafts with worn out yokes on my 04, mainly due to plowing. My GM acquaintances had no such trouble outside of an occasional torn axle boot on high mileage trucks.

Weird. Plowing doesn't void the warranty on a new truck. You'd think the drivetrain would be up to it.

I think all 3 are good trucks. I like that the RAM sit's higher than the Chevy. The Garmin based GPS is superior. (I had the Chevy Nav and it's useless). I like that Chevy offers 3.73 rear axle, however fuel MPG is not as good as the RAM. Don't like the location of the DEF on the Chevy. Chevy used to ride better, but not since RAM got the rear progressive springs. Like RAM looks slightly better than the Chevy, Ford looks dated. Just my opinion. Take care of them and they'll all do a good job, IMO.

Its this simple the most powerful engines in the pulling world are Cummins D-Max, These power plants make HP over 2500HP , NO Ford has ever come close and NO one in the Super Stock Pro league uses Ford Power.

Scheids and Haisley Power plants handed us D-Max guy's are butts again this year, Although Climax did win at Scheids, all in all the Cummins was on top again This year.

Funny thing as a 16 year old kid I fell in love with Chevy K5 Blazers and other squared bodies. Still have my 1977 K5 with a lot of mods. About my 8th K5.

We had a 2000 Ford Excursion then traded it in for a 2005 Ford Excursion. This is about when all the Ford Powerstroke Diesel 6.0 issues really started to get around. We ended up having problems too...needless to say the local Ford dealship was horrible working on our Excursions so when it came time for a new truck. I went looking!

2005 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins :)

Then bought a new 2011 Ram 3500.....and now a 2016 Ram 3500. Never did test drive 2011 or 2016 GM or Ford products. LOL.

Local dealer is just great and a buddy is one of the fleet guys......next truck I'm sure he'll be retired so I'll go drive all the trucks again.

Loyalty is a funny thing. We ride Polaris quads and RZR but the issues have me starting to re access my loyalty and maybe go CanAm or????

And the dealerships really make or break this. Our local Polaris Dealer moved into a really nice large building, but then suddenly any service became twice as expensive and a longer wait.
