So why does DC keep calling the extra lights on the front of the truck "fog" lights. They throw a white light which is absolutely what you don't want in fog. To me they are driving lights. If they were supposed to be fog lights, they'd be orange.

Any input. Can the bulbs be replaced with something that will cut through the fog and not bounce back, like the white light does.

I have not gotten my '04 yet, but this has been a pet peeve since I bought my Dakota in 97. Never could find yellow bulbs for those.

Also, in my Dakota, I can turn on the parking lights and the driving lights, (no headlights)

can you do that in the Ram?

The "fog" light refers to the beam or pattern of light scatter. Fogs traditionally shoot more light to the sides... . driving lights project more light down the road.

The fog lights are also operational with the parking lights or headlights.

I'm with you, Nick! I would love a good bright set of AMBER fog lamps. I don't like white light in fog or heavy snow, and a good set of ambers are awesome at cutting through that stuff.

ditto on the non white lights. i didnt order the factory fogs because they were clear. i am hoping to find something appropriate aftermarket. any suggestions?

You might be able to put on amber lens covers. Maybe Hella or KC or some other aftermarket company makes them. The factory lights shine very low on the road, which is good for fog but not as a driving light.

fog lights

Here is a trick ilearned while driving in fog, Wear a pair of yellow shooters glasses ,cuts down on the glare Bob.

Best fog lites I ever owned were some Per-Lux's

They used to be standard equiptment on just about every firetruck, ambulance, and semi. And they were white.
