Why do you own your truck?

Hmmm... I need to think about moving to Newark, because I have yet to be driving down the road and have all these panties flying at the truck from all the women who can't control themselves.

I chose several.



First one was performance sled pulling. I dont pull sleds, but pull big nasty cow trailers, and love going down the highway blowing everyone's doors off. They don't know what to think.



Next was for Utility. I use my truck for work, sometimes when I load a bunch of stuff in the back, or load a big gooseneck down. Or even when I go out cruising, WORKING on pickin' up hot chicks! haha



Next was for OPTION NOT LISTED. If there were an option for daily driver, I would pick it as well. Not only do I do all this with my truck, but I drive it 50 miles (round trip) to and from work every day.

Ok here goes:



Why do I own my truck? I have always owned a truck. But for a Dodge Cummins?? I have always wanted a diesel truck and for a while I did not care which diesel but always leaned toward a Dodge. I was finally in a position to purchase a used truck and my old (15+ year Chevy S-10) truck was slowly dying. Along came this truck and I bought it within 3 days of seeing it I bought it.

The Dodge Diesel is the only vehicle where the sound of the engine caused me to buy one. It truly is the sound of big rig power. I'll never own a semi... this is my big rig truck. If it sounded like a Powerstroke I wouldn't have given it a second look.

Longevity...

in a word. I owned 4 Ford trucks (gassers) before I woke up. Two of those were around 200K at trade. I could not keep them longer. I have always driven trucks, always will. To think of the mileage/usage I can get out of one truck purchase makes me .

The reason I bought the truck is the same reason I own it now.



1. Added a 5K trailer to the list of toys and the Tacoma was not going to get it through the mountains.



2. The extra room of the Quad Cab is nice for our two boys and the dogs.



The extra power and great fuel mileage (about the same as the Tacoma with the 3. 4L V6) is an added benefit when driving around town or up in the mountains.
