2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Why does my dash stop working?????

My `01 2500 dash stops working as well as the overhead computer then days weeks or months later starts working again {usually when I drive onto the dealership lot to get it fixed} like nothing ever happened. :--)

Any codes? Does the overhead computer display still read any numbers when it stops working. My guess is that you are losing power to the gauge cluster computer.

Check the PCM connections. PCM is located on passanger side firewall. Look for pin connection problems. Mike

The console computer says CCd when its out.

That is the data buss. It is probably shorting out. It only carries about a quarter volt signal level. See if you can get the dealer to check it out.
