Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Why does the Edge Comp module only let the PCM see 3\4 throttle at full throttle

I was running some tests on my truck, one of which was making sure the PCM was seeing full throttle, what I noticed was with the comp module on and in 5-5 the PCM only read 75% throttle with the comp module off, the PCM read 99% throttle. Does any one know why.

Maybe it is foolilng the computer for some reason. Maybe the timing is better at 75% throttle with all the extra fuel it adds... just a guess. .

I used a scanner and was looking at OBD2 data from the PCM with the edge turned on at WOT it read 75% took the same readings with the edge turned of and it read 99%.

I stand corrected

I rechecked it today and the PCM sees 78% throttle all the time at WOT with or without the comp on or of so I'm still wondering what this effects. Truck seems to run fine. If any one out there has a scan tool please see what the PCM sees at WOT. Looks like i'll be taking my scanner to Budds Creek on the 27th

OK, since NOW you're saying the PCM is well under 100% REGARDLESS of the Comp:

"I rechecked it today and the PCM sees 78% throttle all the time at WOT with or without the comp on"

Makes me wonder if perhaps the PCM is DESIGNED to do that UNTIL other engine operating parameters dictate the NEED for more throttle - perhaps to reduce fuel flow until other conditions REQUIRE and can USE max fuel, to keep EGT under control?

Not much use for more fuel flow than the engine can properly utilize?
