Why France doesn't want war....

If France declares war on Iraq, it makes sense that Iraq would declare war in return. This would force France to surrender immediately and discuss terms of Iraqi occupation... ...



Germany, bound by the terms of their WWII surrender agreement, do not have a military capable of defending against the dictator next door.



Germany and France would then be forced to come knocking, hat in hand, asking for us to liberate them from an evil dictator yet again. This would make it understandably difficult for the French to deride the US as an nation of uncivilized savages... ...





Makes sense, doesn't it?

I heard France was sending 5000 crack troops to Iraq, to teach them the art of surrender.

I've been pretty ticked at how the French are behaving, especially knowing my Grandfather fought to help them in WWI. I asked my 80-year old Uncle, a WWII vet, about Grandpa's opinion of the French. Here's the short of it:



Like a lot of American boys, Grandpa Deeming joined the Army early, age 17 - in 1917. While fighting In France, he and some other guys were hit by mustard gas before they had a chance to get their masks on one night and ended up in a hospital. When he heard talk of being sent home, Grandpa snuck out of the hospital and headed off alone to catch up with his troop. Along the way, a German soldier tried to stop him. The iron cross from that Kraut's uniform is now in my family's box of memoirs.



He went through it - with them, and for them. And Grandpa summed it up for my Uncle this way: "When it comes down to being in a trench with Germans bearing down, I'd as soon have a pig in the trench with me as a Frenchman. They're just plain *****cats for soldiers. "

Boycott

I'm all for a boycott. Starting with these stupid little doughnut michelin tires that DC decided to bless me with . I don't drink wine, I'm already married and wal-mart doesn't carry french cheese. So let the good times roll Maybe this is just what we need to get back to buying american made goods. !!I like that old kids saying" Whatever you can do, I can do better". And is there really any doubt that america can do stuff better that a bunch of panty sn*ffing french sissies!
