Tire rotation question

**ON SOAP BOX**

I just drained the front diff on my '98 Durango. It's a time consuming job because there are some tight areas around the bolt circle. It's not a real big deal. I had that queasy feeling when I was cleaning the excess RTV of the hardware, and saw the condition of the threads. A seal was leaking while it was under warranty, so I know they were in there. Anyway, I go to reinstall the cover and decide to use hand tools-because I had the feeling. Sure enough, 2 holes are weak and started to strip #@$%!. I have a heli-coil kit on my shopping list now.

I don't want to bash dealer techs. I had a real professional looking job done when the CP3 was replaced on my CTD, and I seeked out a reputable Cummins tech at a certain dealer to do the job. In both cases I begged the writer to assign the right tech who will do a quality job.
