Big White Beast, yeah, but heat soak is still heat soak. Shouldn't be any real big deal though if you really think about it.
I have been monitoring my K&N that I have had in my truck for a while now, and while running it in stock form, it worked just fine. Dusty places, wet places, etc. Clean as I could want. I added rv275 injectors, and all was still well. But after I got the boost fooler and elbow, I started noticing a very little amount of 'haze' on the turbo. Then after adding the VA box, I noticed even more dirt showing up. So I went and got a filter about 1" smaller in diameter then the standard BHAF last night.
I believe the K&N to be just fine on stock trucks. But once you start building more boost, you can really find hte limits of this type of filter. I have had great success with them on other gasser motors, and it worked just fine on my CTD while it was stock. But I will not run one again on a CTD, no doubt there.
