Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) why injector core charge?

I have seen similar quotes from other injector manufacturers, so why then do they want your old injectors back? Enlighten me.

From what I have been able to put together, most of the aftermarket inectors are reworked Bosch units (extrude honed types). The EDM types seem to have their own "nozzle" made from a different material with the holes made in them by the EDM process. And, here is where I am not 100% sure, those nozzles are installed on the Bosch bodies.



No doubt, if I have mistated here, others will correct me.

They still need the injector bodies to put their custom EDM'ed nozzles on.
