Is everyone using their computer to get these mileage readings?

That might be the problem. I use the old lead pencil method and divide miles traveled by gallons pumped in. My last tank after adding the Bully Dog came out to 17. 1 mpg. That was 70% highway at 80mph (hit 100 once when the Ford Lighting was BEHIND me) and 30% city/switch back mountains.

Chace......

I didn't believe it myself but... ... .

When we bought the 02 for the little woman we got around 16 MPG. After all the mods nothing changed.

Then I drove it for a while, uh oh, mileage dropped to around 14. 5 MPG. So the only conclusion I can draw is that my right foot effects mileage more than I care to admit. Only got about 14K on her so we'll see with time.

On the 01 and all the weight I have I was only getting 10. 5 MPG. Raised heck with the dealers and finally got DC to pay for a trip to Cummins. They all said it was within specs. 160HP stock

That's when I added my mods. The only one that gave me any mileage gains was the EZ. I gained 2 MPG after hooking it up. Injectors, turbo, exhaust, DTT transmission, BHAF, new IAT = no change. So after all the mods I have the power I want and have to settle for a pretty consistant 12. 5 MPG.

I think the EZ on the 01 made more of a difference because of the amount of weight I carry daily (11K lbs) on the 02 there was no gain at all.

I have a 02 3500 utility with 10 ' utility runnin 9500to 10000 lbs daily at 17 mpg [without body installed at 8600 GVW on first tank. ] Now its getting 15. 5 with 9500 Lb. load on . Truck is HO 6 Spd 4WD . Is a 01 only160 HP stock? I thought these beasties were about 215 and 245 in HO trim

I might consider an EZ if enough of you have had mileage gains, but with only 7500 miles, I havent caught the BOMBing bug-- Yet

Dave......

You must drive like an old lady

Just kidding. The 160 horse power dynoed by Cummins is the rear wheel HP. 215 is flywheel and the rest is lost through the transmission. I have no doubt that yours being a stick helps greatly. I bet mine being a Kalifornia truck doesn't help either. The best I ever got was when I went to Phoenix with the truck somewhat empty. I got 14 with all highway miles doing an average of 80 MPH. My 12. 5 MPG comes from 70% town & 30% highway and I drive it hard for a work truck.
