I've pulled 3 different trailers, loaded with different vehicles, not sure about the weight but surely fairly heavy loaded.

The most my truck ever puts out is about 16-17lbs of boost no matter how hard I throttle it.

Is this normal for a stock truck or is something not "right" with my CTD?

Thanks

That's about right with ome fudge factor for the gauge. Stock wastegate limits you to less than 20lbs. A boost fooler and "elbow" will help for just a MINOR boost improvement, but you need a fueling/timing box to get a decent kick in the pants gain. My first mod was to borrow an Edge EZ box for a weekend, VERY noticeable improvement in response and power.

What he said, plus some bigger injectors will really pump it up. Then you get to worry about EGT's, so you get a bigger exhaust system and a larger turbo, now you need more fuel to push the turbo... . it's a vicious circle, fun, but viscous.
