Does it realy suck that bad. We need some event's ,a dyno day so we can watch my trans scatter all over the floor.

Marc

That would be really fun to watch  I have no idea where even to look or set up a dyno day...

Marc, are you free on Sat. 29 Junior, Headshot Zod and I are going to CT for the seefood event. PM me if you are interested...

Being from NJ is kinda like being in a bad Star Trek episode. Whilst the Klingons, Romulans and the Federation generally avoid the Neutral Zone. We actually live in it. Not quite New England, not quite Mason Dixon (even though the Mason Dixon line ran through land that eventually became NJ). Although I was also contemplating that perhaps the ditsy waitress from Hooters has scared everybody off :)

This winter i will try to get a club going for NJ people and maybe we can get patriot out to one of these. I will probably need a hand so whoever is interested in helping let me know.

I know its not what you guys desire to hear but maybe I can chime in on this for you. To dyno in most of the shops out your way one may have to inquire on how big thier wallets are before going. Most of the shops I contacted there a few years ago when I was looking for a spot to move one of my shows to(trying to cater to out of the area guys) were way too outrageous for pricing. When they were sent shots from some of my shows I had some even freaking out about the soot problems. So that led me to having a portable brought in and dropped somewhere to rip on and it was out of sight for pricing(meaning what it would have taken to have it brought in and then the $100 a truck to roll was too much).

Many problems exist when you try and set one of these up with problems ranging from dyno costs, limited parking, proper exhausting of soot, quality shops and possible permit problems. Any one of the ones I just listed can rasie your dyno fees greatly. Another problem with Jersey is their safety rules and regulations as a bigtime dyno event does not differ much from a drag race or dirt race. Competition events are kept under the state police's watchful eye and they need to be on hand for safety equipment checks(more and a BIGGER PIA). Liability insurance is needed to hold a event over there also and things get more messy as you look into it.

Talk to some of your local event co-ordinators,no matter what type of show, and see how many things have to be addressed over there to have a big public gathering for a dyno rip. What, its just a "small" show you say, posh my friend I say. When I stared doing these type events they started as a small idea and ended up with huge amounts of trucks. The smallest show I have ever done was the August show this year and it was up against Scheids so I knew it would only draw local interest(18 trucks total that day, done dynoing by lunch and enjoying adult beverages soo afterwards). My first Fall Brawl show drew better than 50 rides and we dynoed over 40 for a one day show. So when you consider the factors, you need to figure big and wait and see who shows.

I have looked around to try move one of our shows but when it comes right down too it trying to find a shop out there or even locally here to move too is impossible. The Kauffman crew have the facilities, the grounds capable of holding more equipment than we can have show and the gang to roll them in and out efficently. That is the main reason we do all our shows there, not because you guys are the "redheaded step children" of the TDR.

Hope this sheds some light onto your problems. My idea to you guys is have a local gathering like you did once before. Most any Hooters shows draw trucks or how about someone find a place simular up in the Edison area. Make sure it done on a day that doesn't conflict with a big show and one never knows how many or who will show. I am in firm belief with what I know from my research that a bigtime dyno deal there is way too costly to try and have... ... ... ... . Andy

Unfortunately I have to agree with Hammer. The only dyno I know off is $100. 00 a spin, and you have to know the weight of your vehicle and be able to hook it up to your tach.

The good news is its up at Bear Mountain, NY so its close, you can bring as many vehicles as you want and you can do it every Wed night or so during the cruising season. In fact we should think about it next year for getting together. They have food and stuff there. Some hot rod shop trailers it up there. I think its $10. 00 to get in.
