A few mornings here over the past week have been in the 30° to 40° range. Why is the clatter so much louder when the air temp is cold? This is even with the motor up to operating temp. As soon as the air temp is above 60° everything starts to quiet down.



I'm still learning about the CTD and any info would greatly be appreciated, Thanks.

I don't believe your actually hearing the VP44. Its just the combustions that your hearing. My expierience has been no matter what brand the motor is diesels are all louder when cold.

Even after it's up to operating temp?
