i bought a replacement chipped key and did the self programming and it did program a new chipped key
***but to do it your self you Have to have 2 working chipped keys to self program any new ones. **
Find a small locksmith company, if equipped, they have the computer to recreate and program a new chipped one.
**I got 3 new chipped keys (with no buttons Water proof, smaller and like $3o each!)
(i have the aftermarket alarm fob to unlock the doors)
