what does the boost elbow do exactly?

What mileage when you had to replace your stock air filter?

Why do our trucks not have boost or fuel pressure gauges from the factory? If the driver didn't pay attention to them I would think they would at least be of some use to a mechanic for a quick check.

Why don't they come with sound insulation under the hood any more?

Why no rear cup holders?

Why no lighted vanity mirror on the driver's sun visor.

Why no grab handle in the passenger's A-pillar?

Why not a decent auto trans.

These all USED to be standard equip. (except for the trans)

Answer: $$$$$$$$$$$:-{}

should have figured that one out myself I guess. Though, Shovelhead, mine is a year newer and has everything yours doesn't, minus the transmission.

I wonder how many fuel pumps go bad during the warranty period due to faulty lift pumps? A $100. 00 fuel pressure guage might save DC loads of $$$$. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Tim I think you hit the nail on the head... ... "a no brainer"

kinda like the "4-door ram we've been waiting for, huh.

Well, boys, I guess you can add mine to the list of those that cost Dodge more than they saved. VP44 is dead. 71,900 miles. When I put on fuel pressure guage about 6 wks ago, factory lift pump would hit 0 at anything close to normal acceleration. Don't know how long it had been that way, but I'm sure it began the downward spiral of the injector pump, since it's only been about 3000 miles since then.

don't forget that trim getting shorter:rolleyes: at least i have some on the front half of the bed. if i could afford a new truck, i'd pay an extra $1k to get a better auto, but i guess i'm stuck with this piece of crap!

I agree

While the addition of a FP gauge might be admitting to a pre existing problem for DC  , how the heck do they sell a turbo charged truck without a boost gauge. A very long time ago, I had a Ford Probe GT, even that had a OEM boost gauge, regardless of the fact that I was only making about 8 psi's of boost, WTF ???

While I'm on it, why not actually spell gauge, rather than gage. What the hell is that ? Does it really save that much money to not produce a truck right the first time ???

I've always felt that one of the reasons Dodge detuned our CTDs from what Cummins intended was so they didn't have have to include gauges. If you're stock you really don't need them. FP gauge is different story though...

Last month I was shopping for my new PU and was out driving a new DuraMax. NICE! But I was stressin' and couldn't figure why (it was the $40g's) so I says to my sugar we need to go drive a Dodge HO. That one was $27g's and it had a good old Cummins. Soooo, we get what we pay for. Dodges are cheaper and that's what we wanted. And a Cummins. George
