Just a question,if you use syn and decide to go back to petro oil do you run into any problems? Is the bypass system worthless for petro?

Sas, you need to get an all electric rig, then you wouldn't need to worry about eng. oil, course I'd find a way to use synthetics in one of those too. #ad

Bill, you wouldn't have any problems, but it would be overkill, since you wouldn't want to run long change intervals with petro. oil.

Sasquatch,
Did I not mention John Holme's truck? You can switch back and forth every other change if you want. No problem. You have your head stuck in the sand, thats all. We won't hold it against you!

I know of two guys right now with Dodge Cummins, using a By-pass with petro. This system will compliment any oil.
One of them just took a high profile job that has to do with this website!

SASQUATCH, that is an interesting "signature" on your last post, or is that considered a "yard sign" at this time of the year? I have NO disagreement with what you said.

BZIN/UL:

Sorry about (DUMP) that political (ALBERT) notice, pal. I (GORE) should refrain (DOWN) from political (HIS) commentary and respect (TOXIC) the intent of this forum, (MINE) limiting my remarks (SHAFT) to automotive matters!

I was particularly turned off by the Bush campaign's use of subliminal (GORE=RAT) messaging in a recent (GORE=RAT) bit of advertising. You can believe me (GORE=RAT) when I tell you (GORE=RAT) that it won't (GORE=RAT) happen again.

Vote your (GORE=RAT) conscience (GORE=RAT) next week!

MGM,

You're the first (GORE=RAT) person I've ever heard suggest that it's perfectly (GORE=RAT) okay to mix synthetics and conventional, petro-lubricants (GORE=RAT) in your crankcase. Certainly that's what you'd be doing if you were to alternate products every (GORE=RAT) oil change.

interesting tim , yes there are laws to prevent this , but i still see items like SLICK 50 and the other brands of snake oil on the shelf at wal mart . does this mean they really do work ?? #ad

Sasquatch,
That is what I said! Your head is stuck in the sand! I do not know why you want to dilute the Amsoil, but it is totally compatible with all petros and synthetics. And has been for many years. Just one more myth.

For some reason, I just had the urge to go buy rat traps! Very odd.

Mopar-muscle,
No, a company's claims do not mean they are true, however, a company with a reputation to maintain and protect will not make unsupportable claims. In the long run, it's not worth it.
As far as I know, the Duralube-Prolong-type stuff has no reputation to protect. I know no one who admits to using it.

I just spent two days checking out ALL of the venders at the SEMA show. Here is what I came up with if I use Slick 50, Duralube, Motor up, Restore moly, Prolong, & some of the lesser brands my truck will actually produce fuel instead of using it. This using there claim of milage improvements. LOL

I use AmsOil because my truck deserves it!!!

The other thing that come to mind is if we all used AmsOil(or other top quality oils) and extended our change intervals how much more crude oil would there be to make our fuel out of?

Many years ago, I tried it. Just once. But I didn't inhale, and I didn't like it.
