Why the good ones????

Our best friends are Billy and Ilene. They are also our camping buddies. 2 years ago I found them a 97 12V Club Cab with 48K on the odo. This spring, I found them a 97 Jayco Designer 36 double slide 5er that is like new. He told me today to come get the rig and sell it. Her cancer is back and racing thru her body. He told the doctors not to let her suffer. You have never met nicer more caring people than these two folks. And he is totally devoted to her. He is a basket case. I hope they don't ask me to preach the funeral. This one is gonna be hard. Pray for Billy and Ilene... ..... please.

I wrestled with "Devine Healing" for sometime. I KNOW what the Bible says. We would pray and only sometimes our prayers for the sick would be answered. I have seen Devine Healing. Not like the mess you see on TV, but like what is in the Bible. Jesus never knocked anyone down. Never made a show. And more times than not he told the one that He healed to "go and tell no one what happened". A long time friend and spiritual mentor of mine was in town and I invited him to speak in my church for the 11 o'clock service. He preached for only 20 minutes. God had sent him there to settle the questions that were troubling me. He said that sometimes God chooses to heal instantly. Sometimes God chooses to heal over a long period of time. AND sometimes, God chooses to heal at the Resurrection! I was sitting on the rostrum behind him and almost fell out of the chair. It was settled. What part I still don't understand will be handled in the "By and By". Thanx for all the prayers. I love this forum... ... ... ... .....

had to drive my grampa to dr. for same thing today....

I know what it is like to watch your family member/friends go through this long battle as I am home from school for a semester to take care of both my grandparents who have cancer troubles at this time. Berry, I feel for you bud, I will keep your friends in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm sitting here with a heavy heart wondering what to type... . life isnt fair. Billy and Ilene pick out their perfect truck and perfect camper,ready to enjoy life and boom. Billy's perfect mate is being taken from him. It just aint fair. An LSU star third baseman /scholar / athlete died in his sleep this week. Turned down a pro contract to finish his senior year... 21 years old,He had everything in front of him and boom. Its not fair. You are correct,the man upstairs does pick the good ones.

I had same thing happen last year to one of my sister's in law, all of my wifes sisters are married to preachers and then there's me. I'm the one odd ball in the mix as I joined the Army 22 years ago and never looked back. Of the 4 sisters in laws, all have had some ailment that has slowed them or called them home, all except my wife. I am thankful every day that God has allowed us to be healthy and spend our lives together. I'm not going to quote scripture to you as you know it better than I being a Pastor. Just remember everything he does he has a purpose even though we can't see the reason why ... ... but someday we will all get the chance to stand before him and ask, why did you choose this person or that to come home early and leave us to wonder why?



Someday all the questions will be answered, but until that day all we can do is pray for guidance and understanding.



To all that have friends and loved ones in need, our prayers are with you all.

How can fools, believe that there is no God.

The words spoken here are very prophetic, and makes one feel how important faith really is to us mortals. Without faith, how do fools go on? I can't imagine thinking that when you die, that's all there is! Talk about hopeless! 20 years ago I saw my pastor loose his wife to Cancer. That struggle, I'll never forget. Barry, I don't know how pastors do it - that's why the Lord has chosen you folks, and given you the strength that we

don't have.

As a pastor, you already know what the Bible says. And you already know that God will heal Ilene - whether is on this side of Heaven or not is totally within His perfect will. Just remember that if He chooses to not heal her during this lifetime, she will be totally pure and perfect with her new cancer-free, pain-free body in His wonderful presence. And one day, when it's Billy's turn, Ilene will come over to him, hold out her hand to welcome him, too.



I say this because eight years ago, my oldest son chose to be forever 22 years old. Some years before, he had accepted Christ. When I die and get to Heaven (because I, too, have accepted Christ), Jimmy's going to come up to me, put his hand on my shoulder, and say "Hi, Dad. " What a reunion that will be.

wcaldwell - Powerful words my friend. Thanks for telling the story about your dear son Jimmy. It brought tears to my eyes - but yout faith and his are all that matters. We know those reunions atr coming - its just so hard to understand right now. That's where the enemy does his best work. These real life events are a statement to what life is all about. Not our stupid trucks, boats houses - but the real family members and deep friends that make living - a life.
