Oven's Garage mentioned this in his video of window sweep replacement. Apparently there is only one supplier for everyone and what they are using for attachments are inferior. I kept my old ones and pirated the clips from them which requires some care as they will break at the attachment legs. After swapping out the big ones on the ends I'm in pretty good shape but the manufacturer who claims to not have any complaints needs to up their game. I'm really happy that so much is available but I'm not going to cheer on a badly executed product.

What I noticed is the aftermarket clips are not heat treated spring steel so once they are bent to install they lose their grip.

I installed new weather stripping and used a long screwdriver to pinch the clips closed on the installed sweep, they seem to be staying in place after nearly two years.
