Do 4wd really have horrible ball joint and steering problems that i hear about? Do you wish you didn't get a 4wd now?

Heck no! I always have had 4x4 trucks and 3/4 tons. I have gotten used to driving trucks but I believe my current truck is one of the brst riding trucks I have owned. Tire pressure, shocks and load have a lot to do with how a truck rides. Ball joints are a weak spot but they are not horrible. I am on my original BJ's with 58K mile running 37" tires. They are just now starting to show some slop. When I replace them I will go with a heavier duty joint that are serviceable.

Yeah, I HAVE to have a 4x4... be it Dodge or equine, I have to be able to get across the pastures, and the deep sand makes for less than easy access on several of my places. I managed close to 75k on my ball joints before they needed to be replaced. I cheated with a needle zerk on my grease gun, though. I replaced mine with some Moog indexable, serviceable joints, and I haven't had any problems from them since..... another 70k, and after a new engine, going strong again... ... I haven't had any problems with anything on it except ball joints, stabilizer bar, and tire separations... . I love mine.
