When I installed my #11 plate (in the center position) my clutch slipped in 4th gear from 20lbs boost on up. I moved the plate all the way forward and get more smoke but not horrible, power is not noticably more and now the clutch doesnt slip at all. It would appear that power is less or I have a magic clutch that replaced itself (reflashed clutch?). Is it possible to get more smoke and less power?

Its funny how that works isnt it? Can you bring that truck to Dallas late next week or the early part of the following week? Im going to get my dog back together and go dyno tune a little bit. We can slide your plate all over the place and get the max outta it.

Gov springs will wake that dude up too. You and Cord should roll up late next week and lets go get tuned up for the 12th. Maybe we can get those springs in too.

Don~

Im meeting Cord tomorrow in Hillsboro to get the cylinder head. I will see how long it takes me to get this dude back together. Early next week is my goal. Im waiting on gaskets, turbo, valve job to be complete, etc. If everything falls in line, I will be done around Wednesday or Thursday. If that slides out to Friday we might shoot for a Sat or early the following week.

I have not had the time to pull the other gov springs out of my truck yet. I did an intake manifold gasket for my neighbors gasser last night and this morning. The suggestoin for coming up to Dallas was to get the gov springs in your truck and tune it at the same time for the best plate position for max power.

Oh, what turbo are you running?

Don~

When ever you have time is fine with me, keep me posted on how your project is coming along and I will schedule some time off for truck stuff. My turbo is the stocker on the 97, HX35?

Good Luck on your project.

John

Looking at your 370's and the #11 I would maybe try for a bigger housing on your HX-35 or get the Piers HX-35.

Your probably close to 325HP now. Is your muffler and exhaust still stock?

Don~

Straight pipe. Waiting till after the clutch replacement for any turbo mods. Trans is starting to shift a little hard so the clutch is prolly about done

John

Its a bad disease huh? I could have put this money into the stock market or something else:D

My wife is ready to brain me. Took me a three days to talk her into the new turbo I bought about 2 months ago that blew up. That was after the new clutch and new transmision. Now I need another turbo, ported cylinder head, another 'bigger' gov spring kit, delivery valves, gaskets, oil lube pump, water pump, service manual, valves springs, etc.

She has now just given up on ever helping me from this terrible affliction. She just shakes her head from side to side and has a funny look on her face.

She knows what Im going to ask her before I ever get my mouth open:D

Don~

Sure sounds familiar, just tell her if it wasnt for the TDR it would cost a lot more because of all the help from everybody and the R+D thats free with everybody sharing info. Of course you dont need to tell her that if it wasnt for the TDR you wouldnt know about all this cool stuff in the first place.

Hey MDW, are you coming up to Dallas for the dyno event?

Bring that rocket and lets see what shes got.

Don~

Cord tells me he brought you back another engine. I am wanting to do the same thing. Build me a very wicked little B series for fun and maybe install it in a lighter truck like a Dakota.
