Being a mechanic I saw how they operated. For instance, their E4OD auto trans. was a POS when it first came out. The planetary gears would come apart. Ford made the upgraded parts for them, but say you owned one and the transmission went out and you took it to them for repairs. They would not put in the upgraded parts unless you ask them too. How would you know that there was an upgrade, and you would expect them to put it in anyway. I seen one go out with just under 40,000 miles in a van with a 300 cid 6cyl. Our tow truck's trans went out every 25,000 til the upgrade came available, 40,000 after. Another thing I never liked about Fords is the way they are designed to be worked on. Back in the '80's Chevy decided to make their vehicals easy to work on so just about anyone could work on them. Ford wanted the vehicals returned to the dealer for repairs so they could make more money. They have speicality tools that are needed for diagnosises and repair. Hook up a scanner to a chevy and a ford and see the difference. Chevy tells you all this info and Ford tells codes. You can use a paper clip to pull codes out of a chevy. I like fords, that is how I made the money to buy my Dodge. Our tow trucks only towed cars and light trucks and still fell apart. They were only none powerstroke 7. 3 but still needed new heads at 73,000. I will stick with Dodge, Thank you
