Why I get uptight when other tech's work on my rigs

What you see is the result of a high speed passenger train crash, 60 years ago today. June 25, 1947 @ 7:43pm. Near Shilo, Ohio (Mansfield)

Two Hudson Locomotives (some say they are K-5 Pacifics) pulling the New York Central passenger service from Cleveland to St. Lewis, hit an open switch at 70+ MPH

Both firemen and both engineers killed, among others. Six pass. cars derailed.

The most amazing thing was and still is, the fact that the lead engine burried it's self completely up to the cab in mud along the road bed.

Thats aweful. It seems that no matter how much technologoy theres always going to be derailments weather they are due to track conditions or crew errors.

Check out this video on youtube of two BNSF trains colliding, from the cab of a GE Dash 9. Careful: its not for everybody. YouTube - BNSF Derailment

hadn't seem that smash up. . i heard about that one, but didn't see it

there was a neat clip of them rerailing a locomotive in india. . i've personally been involved in derailing a few locomotives [i drove one over a derail] last sunday, i ended up pulling a 20 hour shift, as i had to go "supervise" the car department rerail a locomotive. . they used a pair of hydraulic jacks & the hiab crane on their truck to lift/tilt/lift/tilt/lift/tilt the rear truck of the loco until it was on the rail [lift with the jacks, by using the hiab to drag the truck over so the jacks tilted on the wooden block it was sitting on]

Youtube has apparently edited the link- last bit was a blank blue screen. It looked like the approaching train got too close to the siding?

i don't know if it was edited, maybe just the video went dead but audio kept going???

notice the other train's crew jumping out before the video died. .

i think the video train's crew jumped earlier, as the cab went really quiet

You can see a person jump out a few seconds before they collide. I'm thinking the camera quit with the impact. The person who jumped out did not keep on moving. That was a pretty good leap.

Check out this one.
