What you see is the result of a high speed passenger train crash, 60 years ago today. June 25, 1947 @ 7:43pm. Near Shilo, Ohio (Mansfield)
Two Hudson Locomotives (some say they are K-5 Pacifics) pulling the New York Central passenger service from Cleveland to St. Lewis, hit an open switch at 70+ MPH
Both firemen and both engineers killed, among others. Six pass. cars derailed.
