I purchased a 4x2 when I bought my truck because I have a 4x4 that I built for offroad. I am now using my Dodge for more "back-country" travel as it is definitely more comfortable. My 4x4 has 12x16. 5 tires and handles the dirt w/o much need for using 4 wheel drive for the type of off roading that I do.

What is your thoughts to my putting a "wider" tire on the back for better traction, possibly same size as on my 4x4? Will that impact my mileage? Warranty?

I am also considering "raising" my front end 2 inches to "level" the truck. I have cracked my wind dam twice now by hitting rocks or other on the dirt roads.

Your thoughts?

I think that with the kind or "off roading" your doing a wider tire makes sence. If you were in deep mud a skinner, taller would be better.

A wide tire "aired down" a little will give great traction in soft conditions ie: snow, dirt, rocks.

I dont see any problems with mpg, or warranty.
