Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) WIERD CODES what does it mean ?

Can anyone help me with these codes I am getting on a trcuk I am looking to purchase ?



Truck is a 2000, 99,000 miles, uh Cummins 24 valve 5. 9 liter turboooo diesel. 4" exhaust, AFE stage 1 filter, FASS fuel pump, 4. 10 gears, A/T with 35x12. 5x17's. Not sure what else ya need, but the codes are as follows:

P1693 DTC detected in ECM

P0336 CKP signal error

Check engine light came on 2 days ago, but went out, then came on and stayed on for the last 25 miles or so, then after getting out the restricted transmission cooler and replacing it with a Tru Cool 4950, check engine light is fine?

336 bad crank sensor. It is behind the starter. 1693 is a companion code that is delivered with the malfunction.

Be sure to get the Crank not Cam sensor.

you need to get a code reader or scanner, there could be more codes set that need to be read.
