I'm lookin' to see if anyone can help me with a wierd sound. It only happens when either the truck or weather is warm and only when turning the steering wheel around town. Sounds like the steering pump when jammed all the way to one side, or a vaccum leak. It goes away when I put my foot on the brake pedal just a touch. Is this a sure sine my booster is going out on me? If I put my head under the dash, the sound is coming out of the booster where the shaft goes thru the firewall.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try changing

P. S. fluid to Valvoline synthetic it helps alot of complaints with cold weather noise and operation maybe it will help yours. Its just a shot in the dark but a cheap one. Autozone sells the fluid use a turkey baster and suck out as much as you can from the reservoir and drive it. Repeat process a few times and you will get most of it changed out. LOL
