Hey all,

I have had a minor problem the past few days. When in overdrive and moderate throttle is applied, say 60 MPH or so, I get a surge/ bucking. At first I thought I was possible out of fuel, but I have a solid 10 PSI under this condition. I am able to hit 34+ PSI boost if I stand on it.

I have an EZ, Mach 3s and a simple BHAF with a PDR turbo. I get a funny change in engine pitch at a steady RPm, say around 45. Sounds like the engine momentary advances timing, then retards.

I have checked the easy stuff. DTT transmission is full of fluid and it looks great. It has not been overheated and I never tow more than 3K.

Got good fuel pressure, and boost numbers with a 3 week old BHAF.

The only change that I have made of late is some DFA in my last tank. As opposed to none the 2 tanks prior.

No codes show up.

What have I missed? Map sensor? Something else?

Thanks in advance!

Dave

I'd try pulling the EZ first. At 40 to 45 it would probably be the T/C electrical interference, lock unlock, that is common. At 60 you are locked with moderate acceleration.

Is the EZ ground OK?

Check the APPS for calibration. I had the same problem with a 6 speed trans. Reset the APPS and it goes away for awhile but it will come back. You can clean it but I haven't had any luck doing it.

I had the bolt in the fuel filter holder back off and at high boost and loaded it would feel like the truck was falling apart tightened the bolt that holds the filter to the block the problem went away

I haven't had a chance to mess with the truck all weekend. It's still acting the same. I have a split ground lug on the passenger side. I'm gonna fix that within the next day or two. Then I'll check the EZ.

Thanks for the tips, I will follow up on each of them.

Dave

Still no resolution here. I hate to swap an APPS without knowing or being able to test it bad.

Could the Speed Sensor be part of the issue?
