My water-in-fuel and wait-to-start lights did not go off the other night. I have drained the fuel filter and disconnected the fuel filter sensor and that light is still on. :( I can hear the heater come on and click off :) , which normally turns off the wait-to-start light ,but not now  . Both lights are on all the time. Have searched the site and checking grounds is about the only advice I can find. Was wondering about the ECM? Help!

WIF/WTS lights

Clean the connection on the fuel filter connection , this has happend to my 92 after i cleaned the engine off , sometimes it gets crap in the connections

Thanks DVOLK.

Today I cleaned up the fuel filter plug and chased voltages from the battery. Found out that my windows don't work and that the ac/heater blower is out. Interesting that when the blower is on I get the WTS and WIF lights on allthe time. If it is off they work normally. I suspect a ground someplace. I am going to trouble shoot the blower motor tomorrow.

Turned out to be the fuse link. Was enough wire or carbon left inside the wire insulation to read voltage, but not carry current. Got lucky on finding a new fuse link. Dealer no longer carried them, but had a selection left in a box on the shelf - free :) NAPA had them too, but, not dodge specific. Also bought Maxi fuse holders and fuses. Still not sure which way I will fix it.

You don't need the fuse link. Replace w/a breaker or fuse and holder of proper size.

A test lamp or meter will only read the voltage as you describe. I use a load, like a head lamp to test a circuit. I often use the head lamp to test a lift pump or injection pump circuit for the ISB engines. You can use something similar for your circuit(s) you had trouble with.

Dodge should have labeled the "message center" with a WTF light.

Seems most of the time that's what we say after we find the indirectly related problem.

Fixed with Maxi fuses. Took a while to work thru the wire connection method. Soldering in freezing weather was not working.
