Anyone In Naples FL

I would like to move out west. What state do you folks think would have the least government interference in your daily life? I just want to get away from all of the government meddling and finish my days out in peace with good neighbors and a decent climate. Moe

Last time I lived in Washington for any significant time there was a republican governor. The state has really taken a hit with the democrat governors the last serveral years. Eastern Washington would be my vote.

360 days of sun, mid high 90's in the summer (very low humidity) some winter days never thaw. Moslty small farm towns with long straight roads.

WA was/is nice in the eastern half, but the liberal jerks around the Puget Sound run the state. Mt, Ut. Wy. burrrrrrrrrr in the winter, Nv, Az, beautiful in the winter, although we do get a little warm in the summer (hahahah)

If you like moving every 6 months or so, summer in Eastern WA, and winter over in Arizona or Nevada (do the snowbird routine) chose WA as your legal home, no state income tax and vehicle registration is a LOT less expensive.

Unless you like the heat don't plan on Az or Nv desert in the summer. :-laf

I spent 2005 thru 2007 in Billings, Montana. I LOVED it! Short story, MT is a 'concealed carry state' with a CCW required in Helena (State Capital) and Billings... both 'shale issue' jurisdictions. A LOT of common sense throughout the state. My son was visiting me and we decided to do a little shooting, drove out of Billings a couple of miles, saw a State Trooper parked on the side... stopped to ask about where would be a good place to do a little plinking... Trooper looked to his left, then to his right, response "anywhere"! Shure not California!

I think you will find a LOT of freedom and common sense in either Montana or Wyoming... although I would stay out of Missoula, MT or Chyenne, WY... too many Californians in Missoula and too many Denverites in Cheyenne...

Idaho, montana wyoming. Im actaully trying to get to Colorado. It however is getting populated quickly enough that special interest moves in to help gevern the citizens for their own good. Anywhere theres not a lot of people is the best for the least government. Government moves ot where the money is. Politicians dont want to be the leader of something where the possibility of power or money are extremely low.

Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming are my 3 top choices for that same dream. As soon as my youngest graduates high school, unless living at home is the only way either boy can afford college (we're right next to the U of I). I really hope they can get scholarships...

I have wanted to move there my whole life. My wife, who has NO family other than our own, is the one who won't uproot. No sense of adventure. Trouble is, I will be getting too old to do all things I want to out West. I would be just another political refugee.

So I will be going with or without her come the day. Seriously. That may sound cold, but I wanted to raise my kids out West. She had her way, and here I still am. Soon, I will have mine.

Iowa has gone completely to the liberals. Can't stand it here anymore. We have been thoroughly invaded. Soon, our state will resemble Illinois and Ohio and Indiana... Yuk! Our liberal lawmakers use the worst loser State in the Nation as their "example" and either pass laws mirroring or try to "one-up" Kalifornia at every opportunity. Go figure... Morons.

If you stay out of King county and most of Pierce, Snohomish, and Thurston counties, the west side of Washington state isn't too bad.

We complain about it because we had it so good for so long, but now the greenie tree huggers in Olympia are trying to cater to Seattle. Makes it difficult at times, but there are escape routes, and aside from the central Puget Sound cluster**** the rest of the state is pretty good. :-laf

Colorado 'aint what you are looking for. We have had so many Libs who can no longer afford Kalifornia move here along with their leftists votes. #@$%!

Also depends on if Moe can tolerate the cold. If you can put up with winter, Wyoming, southern Montana just above Wyoming is great. I love the area around Crazy Woman River area. Can't see that the government in Wyoming big enough to go around to bother people. But who knows. If you don't like the cold, northern Arizona is nice. The government not only allows gun carry but strongly encourage it. I also like New Mexico. Not many people down south in the high plateau area. Also a very nice area. It might be a park tho, I don't know and would have to look at a map to be sure. New Mexico is not the friendlest gun state either.

Theres a bunch of land in ND, in fact I know where a whole town can be bought... cheap. Houses, stores movie theater and gas station. all yours. There aint a soul around for hours and you'd could be mayor, Fire marshal and police chief and live in a different house every night.

We have an awesome economy here in ND also state has a 1. 3ish Billion surplus and growing and lots of jobs. But your comment about "not a soul around for hours" is not a trait of ND, If you want that place SD and WYO and eastern Mont are the places for you. I saw that story on the news a while back and that town is in the eastern part of the state "Scenery wise"where the scenery is lacking in a big way. Best part of the state is SW of the Missouri river.

I love the mountain foothill valley country of south central Idaho. The Bitterroot valley in Mont is nice but there are no deals on land in the western mountain regions.

Gotta have hills and lots of trees! I'm getting too old to fight hard winters. Looks like I might move into the bus and follow the sun. That way we become technically homeless!Moe

That's what happened in Oregon, plus they drove the price of real estate through the roof.
