2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Will 2006 wheels fit a 2002?

I am looking at a set of aluminum wheels off of a 2006 mega cab 3500, will they fit my 2002 2500?

I have two friends with a 98 and 99' running 06' wheels. I think they had to swap out the lugnuts.

A friend of mine is running '06 17" wheels on his '02 with no problems.

I have heard that all 8 lug wheels, Chevy, Ford & Dodge are the same but do not know that for certain.

'99+ Fords have a metric bolt pattern and are not compatible. Chevys have the same bolt pattern as Dodges, but the center hole on stock wheels is typically too small to fit over Dodge hubs.



There can also be other issues to consider, like backspacing. I mounted '02 16" aluminum wheels on my '98 and had to do some mild grinding because of the 1. 5" extra backspacing they have over the stock '98 wheels.
