I have a chance to buy some stock 2nd gen rims and would to know if these rims would fit my 1st gen. Would off-set be the same on these rims and would 235 85 r16 fit these rims or would it be better to run the size 2nd gen have?

I have 2nd gen rims on mine. I think the later 2nd gen rims won't, but the pre-98 rims will.

They're pretty sharp looking, I've had mine for a year or so.

I think they are the same width, the offset may be slightly different but not much.

The biggest tires I have run on them are 285/75. They seem a little "sucked in" around the rim, and I think that looks a little funny.

The biggest tire that looks good that I have run is the 265/75.

If you want to run 285/75 or 305/70 then I would suggest getting at least an 8" rim.

does anyone know if there is an offset difference? and if so how much? aslo would 80's Gm or Ford rims be the same as ours? i am looking for plain steel rims to mount a second set of tires on. I like the second generation rims that use a trim ring and center cap, if they can fit would they use the same lugs?

The only problem I had when switching over is you have to use differently tapered lug nuts.

I think the old ford and chevy rims are 16. 5", be carefull!

what about 3rd gen wheels? will they fit the 1st gens? like the five spoke aluminum ones, i think they'd look nice on my blue truck

I think older ford wheels will fit but not the chevy wheels. My dad's 84 Chevy came with 16" wheels but from what i've heard they won't fit on a dodge. I think the 3rd gen wheels are 17" so they would not fit.
